Everyone can benefit from a little Stress Away now and then. For me, I need and benefit from it on a daily basis. No joke, I diffuse it, use it as a roll-on for my wrists and temples, I even add it sometimes to my twice daily shot of Ningxia Red. I have a roll-on in my purse and a bottle on both levels of my house, this is how much i love the stuff. Why? First I love the smell of this EO blend of copaiba, lime, cedarwood, vanilla, ocotea, & lavender. Mmm, I don’t know what it is exactly, but all of these EO’s blended together is just heaven in a bottle in my opinion.
And stress? I’d say I have a little. Nothing major at all, but I’ll admit I can be high-strung every once in awhile when trying to juggle the day-to-day. Seems that our calendar is usually jam packed with practices, games and music lessons, and then I’m trying to squeeze in tutoring sessions for my math students too. With my kids all being middle-schoolers, I know we’re really in the thick of it right now. And I know, I know, it will all be over in a blink of an eye, so I’m trying to enjoy every minute of it … live in the moment. It’s a constant struggle. I just calm down and relax a little more with a little sniff or roll of my Stress Away! Not sure how much of it is the EO’s themselves and how much is the aweseome scent that just seems to “take me away” but either way, I know I’m in love!
Because of my affinity for Stress Away (and of course my love of cocktails) I decided to try it in a mixed drink that could pass for an expensive craft cocktail if I do say so myself! I named it “Away on Vacay” because I felt transported a bit, even though I was simply enjoying it on my backyard patio on a beautiful spring evening. Hope you take time to relax, give it a try, and like it as much as I do!
Stress Away 'Away on Vacay' Martini
- 1 oz vodka
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 drop Young Living Stress Away essential oil
- Ice – enough to fill cocktail shaker
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake, shake, shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a wedge of lime if you like. Prepare to be transported.
Note: Simple syrup is just equal parts sugar or honey and water, heated to a slight boil, stirred until the sugars dissolve, then cooled. I usually make a small batch to keep on-hand in the refrigerator for times just like these.
